2007 INTERVIEWS
Mindless Self Indulgence - Punk, rock, electronic, techno - as much of an oddity as their fans, they took to the stages of the UK on their headline tour not so long ago. Frontman Little Jimmy Urine, guitarist Steve Righ? and drummer Kitty enlighten us into the lives of the pigeon-holeless world of MSI.
Disarm - Captivating audiences with their own brand of hard and fast rock n roll they seem to have a lot of good things coming up. A tour with Kitty Hudson to supporting Warrior Soul and then Bullets & Octane. Nix talks to Brad, Noddy, Jamie and new drummer Ant about the recording of their debut album, touring, pooball, snuff, pirates and the drummer crisis.
The Dangerfields - They have clocked up a lot of miles since 2002 - with a tremendous work ethic, playing over 750 shows ... whether it be the ‘toilet stages’ to legendary live music venues. In a nice quiet pub, before what would be quite possibly one of their most important gigs, Nix caught up for Pure Rawk's first online audio interview with Andy Griswold (vocals/drums) and Jamie Delerict (bass) to talk about how it began, touring, fighting and their plans for world domination.
Patchwork Grace - The trashy foursome chat about what’s happened since the last time we spoke, Trash-Stock and the tour earlier in the year (including incidents involving dogs, sick and porno), their debut album “Milk Teeth”, touring with Trashlight Vision and how they’re planning to move on in and take over.
Teenage Casket Company - Back in January, they stated that they were taking a break. Its been a while since the world has had some TCC and now they’re back and it appears that they’re ready to take on everything and anything. Wylde, JD and Laney74 chat about TCC's return, new material, touring with Sign, The Erotics and Trash-Stock 07.
The Authentics - The Leicester rockers hard sleaze/metal type riffs and turbocharged rhythm section seem to be grabbing them a lot of attention. Frontman Mike Authentic talks about how The Authentics started, their first full album “Blondes Make The Best Victims?”, punch ups, Alfred Hitchcock and playing Trash-Stock 07.
Deadtime Stories - Sleazy twisted glam described as “the most chaotic, fucked up, dangerously unhinged band to have ever terrorized the toilet-tour stages of the world” - meet Deadtime Stories. DTS talk to us about the return of Deadtime Stories, how it started, being spontaneous, Trash-Stock and the “Turd of Doom”.
The Pleasures - Self branded “The Rebirth of Glam rock” they are riddled with clever and naughty lyrics and treat their listeners to a delightful twist of hard rock and even a pinch of metal. Lord Vivian Pleasure talks about how TP got together, their next UK tour, the new line up, their 2nd album and wanting to play a gig on Mars.
Godsized - They united to create rock laden with catchy hooks and choruses and a distinct heavy edge. Just signing to Total Impact Records, Godsized lads talk to Nix about how they started, what they’re doing, what their new record deal entails, missing drummers ... and Pinky and the Brain.
Jack Viper - After a rather eventful few months for the London sleaze outfit, drummer "The Ferlanger" sits down with a beer and talks to us about the recent LA Guns tour (and the temporary abscence of frontman Jay R) and their latest tracks.
Sweet Seduction - Long locks, pyrotechnic sleazy riffs, tattoos aplenty topped off with relentless touring seem to sum up Sweet Seduction. With a ‘classic’ sound, they seem to be one of the bands leading the pack at the moment. They speak to Nix about how it all started, why they changed their name, what they've been upto for the past few months and what the future holds for Sweet Seduction.
Lethal Fixx - Punky, glammy anthemic rockers. Joe Alexander (lead guitar) and Nikki Wilde (rhythm guitar) had a chat to Nix about “Beautiful People”, their next release, what they’ve been upto, carnage and a European tour.
Dollar Sent - Frontman Chris spoke to Nix about how the band started, what they’ve been upto recently, nightmare releases, random policemen turning up at gigs and their plans for spreading the word that posing is passe and good rock is where its at.
