Intervurt – Limited Edition EP
Opening with some punk-pop crashing about and a bit of late nineties indie vocal, you’d be forgiven for thinking this is just a bunch of lads having a bit of fun. But then the dreamy soundscapes start and you realise they’re aiming at something completely different.
Whilst maintaining the fast and catchy attitude, they’re obviously aiming at something a bit more grown up, akin to bands like The Doves were doing many a year ago, and mixing in a bit of Killers style synth influences while they’re at it. And I think they’ve succeeded, although the lyrics are a bit pants at times.
This is swooning, pop-friendly grown up indie. If you like that kind of thing, then this band is for you. Unfortunately, I don’t, so please make it go away.
