Plastic Toys – For Tonight Only

I was quite excited when this album landed on my mat. Plastic Toys’ debut has apparently been done for a little while and now it is finally out in the open, is getting some pretty good press so far.

The intro of “Curtain Up” sets quite a seedy scene for the band’s debut – and part of you cannot help but love the band for the first vocal contribution being the line “Last Night I f***ed your girlfriend” in ‘Devil’. What a great way to make an entrance.

Their single, “Let Me Feel The Love” is a hip shakin’ little number. Whilst rather NIN-esque track “Still Alive” brings it down a little bit but still retains the distinct allure that Plastic Toys have. ‘Dirty’ and ‘The Tragedy’ keep the tempo bubbling along but then your ears are given a treat with the fuzzy riffs of ‘Tonight Only’.

Plastic Toys’ electro-rock is presented in all its glory on “For Tonight Only”. In a nutshell, it’s a stunning debut with no iffy tracks to report. Ooh, and if you get off your bottom now and get one of the limited edition ones – you get three extra tracks. Sexy!
